February 2022 Kent Chamber Update

Sam Shoge, Executive Director

Greetings and happy February to our valued Kent Chamber Members.

With the Annual Report published and our Community Excellence Awards presentations officially behind us, I am pleased to announce 2021 was an exciting and successful year for the Kent County Chamber of Commerce. As you will see in the Annual Report (a printed copy will be mailed to all members soon), the Kent Chamber accomplished a lot during 2021.

Despite the myriad challenges imposed on us all by COVID-19, the Chamber was still able to squeeze in a robust event schedule comprised of both in-person and virtual events. We recognized the accomplishments of our members in new ways that were extremely well received. We took a more inclusive approach to engage all businesses in Kent County while still maintaining the value of membership. We reimagined our publications to make them brighter, more engaging, and a better reflection of the community. We launched two committees to directly engage our members in ways that will keep them informed on critical legislative issues and business development opportunities.

I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished during the previous year and it has been a true honor to serve the members of the Kent Chamber.

2022 promises to be more exciting, however. With COVID-19 rates falling rapidly, you can count on the Kent Chamber to accomplish even more this year with in-person events. We will roll out further improvements to our resource guide and map publications, making them even more popular vehicles to communicate one’s message. The chamber will be a more powerful resource for businesses in and around Kent County. Stay tuned for all of the exciting things to come.

In service,

Sam Shoge, Executive Director
