Welcome to the new and improved NewsFlash, a monthly newsletter recapping all of the exciting developments from the Kent County Chamber and its members.
In a year that has been dominated by public health and political headlines, it can be easy to overlook the positive things that are happening right here in our community. In an effort to better highlight the unique ways businesses are making an impact locally, the Kent County Chamber has committed to featuring the
innovative work our members do in a neatly designed, highly digestible monthly newsletter—one of many ways we champion the success of our members.
When I became the organization’s new executive director in April, feedback that I heard consistently from members was how they valued the communication they received from the chamber regarding meetings and events, public service announcements, and networking.
We are doubling-down on this.
The redesign of the newsletter and commitment to better sharing and distributing content provided by our members follows on similar successes we’ve enjoyed over the past few months. Staff recently developed a new website, adopted social media best practices, and rolled out a powerful new tool to enable members to create and manage an online profile to register for events, pay invoices online, and ensure their directory information always stays up-to-date.
In addition, since April, the Kent Chamber has hosted nearly three dozen COVID-19 update conference calls, panel discussions, and live chats that have attracted hundreds of participants.
As we approach the end of 2020 and look forward to 2021, you can count on the Kent Chamber to continue developing new and exciting ways to engage you and keep you informed on important things transpiring throughout our community.
Do you have any thoughts or ideas you would like to share? Susan and I would love to hear from you.
Have a safe and bountiful Thanksgiving.
Sam Shoge, Executive Director
